Frequently asked questions.

Can you deliver into tight backyards or condensed neighbourhoods without removing fences or obstacles?

Absolutely. We specialize in delivering sheds into tight, narrow, or hard-to-access backyards and properties, including those in condensed neighbourhoods—at no extra cost.

For a safe and smooth delivery, we require a minimum access space of 3 feet in width and 9 feet in height from any walls, fence openings, trees, or other obstacles leading to the shed’s final location.

If you’re unsure whether your property meets these access requirements, we’re more than happy to assess your space and recommend the best delivery method.

Does the price of the shed include installation?

The price of our sheds includes 100% of the construction cost as well as 100% of the installation fee.

Is there a delivery fee when I get a shed installed?

The delivery of our sheds does include a delivery fee. This fee varies based on the shed’s size, shape, and complexity, as well as the customer’s location. Delivery costs are minimal for customers near Orangeville, Ontario, and gradually increase with distance.

However, delivery to Orangeville, Shelburne, Grand Valley, Alton, and Hillsburgh is completely FREE of charge.

What do I need to do to prepare for the delivery of my new shed?

Clients will need to provide adequate parking for our team, including space for a pickup truck and a large trailer. This can be in your driveway or on the road in front of your property, as long as we have direct access from the road to your yard.

We also require a clear access route to the shed’s installation location through client-owned property. If access can only be gained through a neighbour’s yard or any property you do not own, written permission from the property owner is required before delivery.

Please ensure that any obstacles—such as yard equipment, furniture, debris, or other items—are moved out of the delivery path so our team can safely and efficiently reach the installation area.

What type of base is required for the shed?

Our sheds sit on carefully leveled patio stones, keeping the shed off the ground to prevent rot and ensuring it sits perfectly level. This is included in the price of the shed, and installation of the patio stones is also covered.

This method works best when the ground is relatively level. If your property is uneven, please send us a message or give us a call to discuss alternative options.

We also offer gravel pads under the patio stones for added stability and drainage, as well as concrete pads for maximum durability. Please note that these options require an additional fee.

If you have questions about your yard or the best foundation for your shed, feel free to reach out to our landscaping team at Of The Oak Landscaping.

Can you assemble the shed right against my fence or house?

Our sheds are assembled on-site and require a minimum clearance of 24 inches around all four sides to ensure proper and safe installation. This space also benefits the shed, as wood needs room to breathe and dry out. If a shed is placed directly against an object, it may not dry efficiently, which can accelerate wood deterioration over time.

Whats included in the base shed?

Our sheds come standard with pine board-and-batten siding (unpainted/unstained) or LP SmartSide paneling (unpainted), along with a single man door made from the same siding material. Painted or stained siding is available for an additional fee.

The roofing comes standard with black three-tab shingles. Metal roofing options are available for an additional fee. Framing is built with a standard 24-inch spacing, and floor joists are spaced at 12 or 16 inches, depending on the shed size. All floors are 100% pressure-treated for durability and long-lasting performance.

Do you require a down payment?

Yes, we require a non-refundable down payment for all projects. This ensures that we are protected in the event a client decides to back out of the project.

The down payment can only be refunded if it is requested before materials are ordered or work has begun. Once materials have been ordered or the project has started, the down payment is non-refundable.

The amount of the down payment is determined based on the total cost of the project.
